Has music ever given you goosebumps? In this video, Neuroscientist Dr. Daniel Levitin explains a theory of where goosebumps come from. Goosebumps can be caused by a scary movie, or listening to a beautiful piece of music. This could be because the auditory system is connected to the part of the brain that would prompt movement in a scary situation. However, when music causes goosebumps, this reaction is activated in a positive way, rather than a frightening way!
