Is time real? In this video David Kaiser, a physicist at MIT, answers this question in terms of quantum theory. He explains that time is real for human-scale objects, because it is not possible to travel faster than the speed of light in order to send a message to the past. However, he elaborates that time might behave differently for atom-scale objects, because quantum theory can change how cause and effect are situated. This is, as he calls it, a quantum answer: both yes and no!
