The North Atlantic right whale is one of the most endangered whale species. There are approximately 350 of them left, which includes only 70 females - a concerning statistic in regards to population management. Right whales can grow to be up to 50 feet long and can weigh as much as a school bus, making it dangerous to be around them. But humans also pose a threat to right whales, with dangers such as ship strikes and fishing gear entanglement being two of the main dangers. It’s vitally important to protect this incredible species, especially in the areas where they feed.
