Aw, rats! 🐀 Climate change could be making your city’s rat problem worse. Studies have shown that cities where the temperature increased the most over the last two decades also experienced the largest growth in rat populations. This is because rats are more active in warm weather, and have longer breeding seasons with shorter winters. Some cities, including New York City and Cambridge, have appointed rat czars to address this problem, but the best way to deal with rats is to keep our cities cool!
