Why is this mom wearing a microphone around her neck? This is Beth Leipholtz of Beth & Coop, a mom who is using technology to communicate with her Deaf son Cooper. Beth’s microphone connects directly to Cooper’s cochlear implant via Bluetooth, allowing her to talk directly to him. This is a useful technology because even with Cochlear implants, Deaf individuals can have difficulties processing sounds in loud or crowded environments. The microphone can also be utilized in school settings, where teachers could potentially connect to multiple students’ hearing devices!
