Do you know how to spot Orion in the night sky? In this video, we break down how you can find this famous constellation. Look for Orion’s belt, a distinctive formation of three bright stars in a row that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the sky. From there, you can look above to see Orion’s shoulders, the stars Bellatrix and Betelgeuse, or below to see his knees, the stars Saiph and Rigel. With a very dark sky, you can also see Orion’s scabbard, which includes the Orion Nebula, the closest star forming region to Earth!
