The ESA’s JUICE Mission Gets Ready to Takeoff to Jupiter Video Watch time Under 1 minute April 5, 2023 Image The European Space Agency’s Jupiter-bound JUICE mission is set to launch in April. Here’s what you need to know as the spacecraft starts its long journey across the solar system. The JUpiter ICy moons Explorer (JUICE) is a mission led by the European Space Agency (ESA) that aims to study Jupiter and its icy moons. The mission will focus on studying the potential habitability of Jupiter's moons Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto, and their potential for hosting life. JUICE will use a suite of scientific instruments, including cameras, spectrometers, and a laser altimeter, to study the surface, composition, and geology of Jupiter and its moons. The information gathered by JUICE will help us to better understand the formation and evolution of our solar system, as well as the potential for life beyond Earth.
