How do you provide enrichment for sloths living under human care? Sash the sloth enjoys a variety of enriching activities every day. First, she does target training, where she touches her nose to a target in order to enjoy a tasty treat. Next, she plays with her favorite toy, her basket. Sash sometimes curls up in her basket like a baby sloth! Finally, she has scent enrichment, where she’s given a bucket of dill and cinnamon to smell. Scent enrichment is especially important as sloths’ primary sense is their sense of smell!
