What would our own Milky Way Galaxy have looked like when it was very young? In this video, Micaela Bagley, Project Scientist at NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, describes the Firefly Sparkle Galaxy, also known as the “Christmas lights” galaxy, which shows us a picture of what a galaxy much like ours looked like when it was forming, 600 million years after the Big Bang. The Firefly Sparkle Galaxy appears like a string of Christmas lights, but each of those lights is actually a cluster of stars forming!
