What happens when boiling hot water meets ultra cold liquid nitrogen? In this video, Museum Educator Locke explains how liquid nitrogen boils at the super cold temperature of -320 degrees Fahrenheit. When forced to combine with the boiling hot water, the liquid nitrogen rapidly expands to a gas, causing an explosion of water vapor. When a little bit of dish soap is added to the mix, we get big bubbles filled with white water vapor. This exciting experiment is both educational and fun!
