Why haven’t we found alien life? In this video, Theoretical Cosmologist Dr. Paul Sutter and Museum of Science Planetarium Educator Talia Sepersky discuss the Fermi paradox - the question of, if alien life exists in the universe, why haven’t we found it yet? Dr. Sutter describes his preferred solution, which is that the true scale of interstellar distances is the reason why we haven’t found signs of life elsewhere in the universe. He explains that we can calculate the distance to other stars, but that our brains aren’t capable of envisioning how far away they actually are.
