Can we use human brain power to fuel A.I.? In this video, Insoo Hyun, Director of the Center for Life Science at the Museum of Science, describes how researchers at Indiana University Bloomington recently created a hybrid A.I. computing system using human brain organoids! This is an important step forward in A.I. computing because it reduces the energy consumption of the system. Currently, A.I. servers could consume over 85 terawatt hours of electricity per year, which is approximately the same energy consumption as several small countries! However, this innovation also raises important ethical questions.
