Close Modal Sustainable Brew: How the Alcohol Industry Impacts Climate Change Join the cofounders of Earth Cups, along with members of the Boston Beer Company and Black Earth Compost teams, to hear about the closed loop composting circle that is revolutionizing industries and encouraging us all to “Drink Sustainably.” Today, many leading individuals and organizations within the alcohol industry rely on environmentally harmful products and practices, like petroleum-based plastic cups. Most of these cups end up in landfills or in our waterways, creating plastic waste and pollution. However, Earth Cups is seeking to solve this problem with a mission to make sustainability cool, one cup at a time. During their time at college, Earth Cups cofounders Misha and Peter would see thousands of (red) plastic cups littered across their campus and recognized the problem that is single-use plastic waste. They did some quick digging and soon learned just how harmful and ubiquitous the cheap-looking cups are. So, In April 2021, they launched Earth Cups, 1100% certified compostable cups, and an eco-friendly alternative to typical single-use plastic. Now, they have launched a groundbreaking closed-loop collection circle, partnering with leading alcohol companies like Boston Beer Company and Black Earth Compost to mitigate waste streams, improve footprints, and participate in creating a greener future. Join us at 7:00 pm for a pre-program bar before the conversation starts at 7:30 pm. You'll have the chance to participate in the closed loop circle using Earth Brand and Boston Beer Company products, all composted by Black Earth. This program is free, thanks to the generosity of the Lowell Institute.Part of the Museum’s Year of the Earthshot, an exploration of the climate solutions and the actions we can take now to live sustainably on Earth.
