About PureSparkWhen PureSpark first launched, it recognized a few disparities in their community related to mental health, mainly the lack of Black therapists in the Massachusetts area and an inability to adequately connect individuals to available therapists due to low income and/or insurance type. As an organization, PureSpark’s mission is to help Black people living in the Greater Boston area on their wellness journey from beginning to end. It starts with education (learning about the symptoms of depression and anxiety) and continues to implementation (practicing yoga and seeking out a therapist). They help fill the gap and take the guesswork out of wellness, helping to empower those who want to start on their own personal healing journey.PureSpark’s end goal is to work toward creating a healthier and more peaceful community where people respond versus react; where a mental health diagnosis is no longer a stigma in their community.
