NSF Career Award recipient Eric Tytell and his students are working with the Museum's Strategic Projects Group to develop a fun hands-on "Design a Fish" activity for Museum visitors. Eric's lab takes a cross-disciplinary look at the biomechanics of fish, neuroscience, and fluid dynamics. The "Design a Fish" activity invites visitors to choose from among several body and fin types to build their own fish and then race it against the clock in a flow tank. Visitors investigate how different designs affect performance. See the Tytell Laboratory at Tufts University.
