About This Collaboration

The Center for Brains, Minds, and Machines (CBMM) is a National Science Foundation Science-Technology Center (STC), headquartered at MIT. CBMM also includes researchers and students at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Stanford, Wellesley College, and Rockefeller University.

The Museum’s Strategic Projects Group provides education and public outreach for the Center, including public presentations, hands-on demos, Health Fair and Brain Awareness Week events, and videos posted on our NanoNerds YouTube Channel. CBMM also offers an online learning hub.

CIQM’s director and principal investigator is Tomaso Poggio at MIT. Wellesley’s Ellen Hildreth is the Center’s Coordinator for Education. Carol Lynn Alpert is the CBMM lead at the Museum of Science (MOS). Megan Litwhiler serves as Program Manager at MOS.
